Before selecting the product that ultimately became LØCKD, we conducted a series of tests to measure tackiness by determining the critical angle at which a paddle fitted with an overgrip begins to slide on a standardized inclined surface. These tests were conducted on brand-new overgrips immediately after unpacking, then after immersion in a sweat-simulating solution, followed by exposure to simulated wear cycles.

Compared with overgrips that had been used in real playing conditions, the average difference observed was 1.1%, indicating that the developed testing protocol is representative of real-world play.

To evaluate the absorption capacity of the overgrips tested, a standardized sample size was taken from each product. The samples were first weighed dry, then immersed in a sweat-replicating solution and weighed again after reaching saturation. The resulting difference in mass was used to quantify the amount of liquid absorbed by each material and to objectively compare the absorption capability of the different overgrips.

A total of 22 models from 10 different manufacturers were considered.

All tests were conducted a minimum of five times for each overgrip model evaluated. When multiple color options were available for a given model, different color variants were included in the testing process to verify performance consistency.

The results shown on the LØCKD website and in LØCKD promotional materials are the average values obtained across all of these tests.
